The Strawberry Food Festival is a popular annual festival that has occurred in Enniscorthy since 1967. Each year a host of princesses battle it out to be crowned the Strawberry Queen. In recent years the festival has been refreshed and called the Strawberry, Culture and Food Fest.
Wexford Fringe Festival is an annual arts festival offering an array of free events across cabaret, comedy, circus, dance, film, theatre, puppetry, music, and visual art. The event is open access meaning anyone interested in performing is welcome to join.
The Spiegeltent festival is a programme of events which features contemporary music, comedy, theatre, film, and classical music. Some of the country’s top entertainment acts have played at this event.
The Wexford Festival Opera is probably the most famous of all the Wexford festivals. Originally set up by Tom Walsh and a group of opera lovers in 1953 it is regarded as being one of the best Opera festivals in the world. It takes place each year in October and November in Wexford and sees people travel from all over the world to take part in the festivities.
Established in 1974 Wexford Arts Centre is the oldest regional arts centre in Ireland. There are contemporary art exhibitions on show all year round where admission is free & if interested there are also free educational talks available to visitors.
The theatre can accommodate up to 200 guests and is the ideal way to spend an evening if you enjoy theatre, music, comedy, and dance.
