Belfast Pride Festival

Belfast Pride Festival aims to represent and promote the visibility of the LGBT+ community in Belfast by delivering a 10-day festival with a substantive and diverse programme of events that is open to all. Belfast Pride Festival is a 10-day-long programme of events, culminating on Pride Day with the annual Pride Parade through Belfast City Centre, Party in the Square and Pride Village.

Pride Parade

Pride is celebrated around the world near the anniversary of the Stonewall Riots in New York City in June 1969, which were the start of the modern fight for equality of rights for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT+) people. The first Pride parade in Belfast was organised in June 1991 when 100 people marched in Belfast and 2018 55,000 people demanded change by taking part in the festival.
