Shopping breaks in Cardiff

Cardiff Shopping

The Welsh capital attracts shoppers from all over. It’s one of the prime shopping destinations in the UK.

Cardiff is a popular spot for shopping, with a range of designer brands, independent shops and popular high street names dotted throughout the city.

Cardiff has a range of arcades dotted throughout the city, with Queens Arcade containing some of the most fashionable boutiques, jewellery stores and cafés on Queen Street. The Royal Arcade is the oldest of Cardiff’s arcades and is located just opposite St David’s Shopping Centre. You’ll find some great independent shops that have been there for over 60 years which include Wally’s Delicatessen. Castle Arcade is just opposite Cardiff castle and has a great array of edible goodies including speciality cheeses, breads and pastas.

St David’s Shopping Centre

St David’s Shopping Centre is located in the centre of the city and is home to a range of shop types including department stores (such as Marks and Spencer and Debenhams), kid’s toy stores, home ware stores and popular high street clothes shops (such as River Island, Oasis and H&M). There is something for everyone within the walls of the shopping centre, and if you are tired of shopping, then you can take a break and enjoy the range of food and coffee shops available.

St David’s Shopping Centre is also home to John Lewis – the largest of this retail giant outside of London. If you’re not familiar with this department store, it’s an upmarket department store that has everything from men, women and children’s fashion to toys, sports and leisure.

If you’re more of a casual shopper, take a stroll through the city and soak up the atmosphere taking a break in the range of cafés, restaurants and bars available in the city. If you’re interested in a shopping break in Cardiff then choose Clayton Hotel Cardiff as your hotel of choice.
