1. Howth cliff walk
When it comes to watching the sunset over Dublin, there is no better vantage point than the Howth cliff walk and it’s the perfect couple activity to begin with. The full loop is 12km and takes around three hours to complete but there are options for shorter routes depending on where you choose to begin.
From the rocky coastline to the fresh sea air and rugged cliffs, this is certainly a hike that will have you captivated from beginning to end with its magnificent views. It’s also quite rocky in parts so do make sure you wear your trainers or walking boots for this one.
Located just 25 minutes outside the city, it’s the perfect setting to watch the sun go down before grabbing a bite to eat in one of Howth’s many famous seafood restaurants. So make sure to take note of this as one of the top things to do for couples in Dublin!
2. Raft down the Liffey
The River Liffey flows right through Dublin City Centre for 125KM before entering the Irish Sea and while you might not look at it and think of white-water rafting, you can take a journey on a raft down the liffey.
Thanks to Rafting.ie, groups (big and small) or it can even be a couple activity, can experience the River Liffey on a raft journey lasting over two and a half hours. On the journey, your guide will give you the full rundown of each area you pass through, which includes the Strawberry Beds and four different weirs.
Pro-tip: If you are an adrenaline junkie, you can speak to your guide about flipping the raft (for fun). If that doesn’t sound like fun to you, don’t worry, it’s rare that the rafts themselves ever tip over without a helping hand.
3. Pop into Token
If you and your other half love the idea of a retro date, you won’t want to miss Token. This is Dublin’s only ‘barcade’ with a huge range of arcade games, a pinball parlor, restaurant and extensive selection of craft beer – a great couple activity in Dublin!

Token opens at 4pm from Wednesday – Friday and 1pm on Saturdays and Sundays. They take bookings for groups of 2-10 people for food, but there is no requirement to book if you are only going for drinks and games as they operate on a first come first serve basis.
4. Dublin Tasting Trail
For foodies, the Dublin Tasting Trail will be an unforgettable afternoon. The whole tour lasts between two and three hours and during this time, you get to visit around seven different independent eateries in the city where you’ll also meet the people behind the establishment.

6. Malahide Castle
