Sustainability, it’s a personal responsibility we embrace

At Clayton Hotel Burlington Road we embrace our responsibility for environmental leadership and it informs every aspect of who we are and what we do.  So you’ll find we’re committed to sharing new and innovative ways of integrating our environmental practices and sustainability principles in how we deliver our hospitality with you.

Sustainable Facilities

As Dublin City’s Largest Conference Hotel, we like to take the lead on green initiatives when it comes to event planning. Here are some of the reasons you should choose us for your sustainable event

  • Accessible Location: We have a Dublin Bus and Aircoach bus stop right outside our door and we’re a short walk away from Charlemont Luas (tram) stop. We encourage all delegates to reduce their carbon footprint and arrive in the most eco-friendly way feasible.
  • Go Digital: Our Conference Center offers state-of-the-art facilities including Digital Welcome screens, HD Projector screens and high-speed Wi-Fi so you can cut down on printed signage and materials.
  • Eco-Friendly Catering: We are big believers in the importance of ‘Producer to Plate’ and thus take care in selecting local, sustainable suppliers. We can work with your team to develop an eco-friendly menu and explore buffet options to help reduce the carbon footprint of your event.
  • Waste Management: Our team has an effective waste management system in place that prioritises reducing, reusing and recycling. We’ll work with your team to ensure these practices are implemented throughout your event.
  • Energy Efficiency: In recent years we’ve done a lot of work to increase our energy efficiency in our conference centre. This includes the introduction of new LED lighting and Demand Response technology to monitor and reduce electricity consumption

We have 20 meeting rooms to support our conference centre, here are some of the ways in which our meeting rooms are green:

  • All of our meeting rooms have natural daylight, saving on energy consumption.
  • We offer still and sparkling water in reusable glass bottles.
  • We offer ceramic mugs, glasses and reusable cutlery rather than disposable plastic cups.
  • Go Digital – our rooms offer FREE Wi-Fi and HD projector screens so you can cut down on printed materials.

Having guest bedrooms on-site not only reduces the carbon footprint of your event and the delegates attending but here are the other ways we’re going green.

  • We’ve updated all our bedrooms with shower and tap aerators to reduce water consumption.
  • In our guest bedrooms we encourage guests to follow environmentally friendly practices and opt out of daily towel and linen changes.
  • New hybrid AC in bedrooms and Led lighting has reduced energy consumption.
  • We offer ceramic mugs and glasses in the bedrooms rather than disposable plastic cups.
  • Our toiletries are supplied in recyclable packaging

To reduce our carbon footprint, we encourage our staff members and guests to arrive by alternative means of public transportation. Luckily, we’re excellently situated with a Dublin Bus and Aircoach stop right outside our front door and just a short walk from the Charlemont Luas (tram) station. We also introduced two electric car charging points in our on-site car park in our effort to reduce our environmental impact.

Another way we’ve helped cut down on waste as a sustainable hotel is our new partnership with PressReader. Now guests on-site can access and download more than 7,000 publications from around the world during your stay without the need to print them. Simply download the PressReader app, open it once you are here, and browse to your hearts content. Anything you download while you’re here is yours to keep.
