Concierge, Paul Fitzsimons

There’s no one who knows Dublin City quite like our wonderful Head Concierge, Paul Fitzsimons. His journey started over 20 years ago, working his way up to the position of Head Concierge. Not only an integral part of our team, but Paul was also President of the Ireland branch of Les Clefs D’Or, for 5 years and is currently Vice President of the prestigious network of concierges worldwide. As such he’s a wealth of sightseeing information with all the best contacts in the city.

You can guarantee he’s the first to know about new restaurants, attractions, and tours, and as a self-confessed history buff, he also knows all the old hidden gems nestled away off the beaten track of Dublin City.

Concierge, Frank Treacy

Our Concierge, Frank Treacy, also has a long history here. He began his career as a pageboy in 1972 and worked his way up over the years to become Head Concierge. He even won the Dalata Hotel Group Overall Employee of the Year Award in 2017.

Our Top Tips for Dublin

Paul Says

“There are so many wonderful attractions to visit in Dublin, however, one of my favourites is St Audeon’s Church and the lesser-known 12th century St Audeon’s Gate, some of the last vestiges of medieval Dublin, they are well worth a visit!  As is Epic – The Irish Emigration Museum, which recently won the European Museum of the Year (2019) For some peace and tranquillity, the idyllic Iveagh Gardens, located a short stroll from the hotel are also a must-see. These are what we call Dublin’s secret garden.”

“My favourite Dublin attraction is Kilmainham Gaol, steeped in history it’s a favourite with tourists and locals alike, this is a great place to delve into Ireland’s past. My top tip for a trip to Dublin is to check out the Hop On Hop Off Bus as it’s a great way to get to know the City and make sure you don’t miss anything! The ‘Do Dublin’ Bus Tour collects from the hotel every morning at 9:45 am”
