Below are some of the most frequently asked questions which will assist you in planning your big day.

Does the hotel host more than one wedding a day?

No, we have a one wedding per day policy, which ensures that you and your guests are the centre of attention for the entire day.

How can I arrange a viewing of the hotel?

We welcome all couples to pop in anytime at all to meet with us. However, if possible, we recommend that you make an appointment with our weddings manager Debbie Foott who will be able to meet you at a date and time to suit you – even on the day of a wedding so that you experience all that the hotel has to offer for your wedding day.

How many guests can your wedding venue hold?

We cater for weddings from 2 to 400 and would be delighted to do so. Our ballroom is multi-functional and sub-dividable depending on your requirements.

Do you cater for wedding ceremonies in the hotel?

Yes, we cater to all types of ceremonies here in the hotel.

Where can our wedding guests’ park? Is hotel parking free?

There is ample free parking all around the hotel and we also have a complimentary underground car park.

Can you give us recommendations for wedding suppliers?

Yes indeed, we have an exclusive list of wedding professionals who are frequently with us here at the hotel.

Are children welcome at our wedding hotel?

Yes, of course, we are a family-friendly hotel, children are welcome at all times.

Is there a wedding menu tasting included?

Yes, there is a menu tasting included with our compliments for the couple.

Do you cater for special dietary requirements?

Yes, we cater for all dietary requirements, just let us know your specific requests.

How many bedrooms are in the hotel and do you offer a reduced rate for wedding guests?

We have 195 bedrooms and yes, we hold off a block of bedrooms under the wedding couple’s name which is offered at a reduced rate for your wedding guests.

What time is check-in/check-out?

Check in is from 4pm.
Check out is at 11am.

How many guests per table? Do you do a table plan?

We have round tables that can accommodate between 8 – 12 guests per table. We will send you a ballroom layout depending on your guest numbers and yes, we will print and display a table plan for you on your wedding day.

When can we start the speeches?

This is entirely up to you. Some couples hold the speeches before the meal, some after, and some decide to have the starter first and then have the speeches.

When is the wedding dinner bell rung?

This again is entirely your decision, the majority of couples call for dinner around 5.30 pm but this time can be brought forward or pushed out depending on your timing.

How long does the wedding dinner take to serve?

On average, excluding speeches, the meal takes approximately 2 hours from start to finish.

Do we need to leave the ballroom after the meal for the dancefloor to be set up?

Not at all, there is no need for your guests to leave the ballroom. You can also decide to leave your tables off the dancefloor for the meal which means that none of your guests will be moved and will have the same table all night.

Can our band/DJ setup early?

Our stage is set up early in the day and is covered with our fairy light backdrop, therefore, your band/DJ can come in anytime during the day and be set up and ready to go, yet none of your guests will see this until the fairy light backdrop is moved after your wedding meal.

When will the first dance be? And how long is the bar opened until?

Depending on your speeches etc. we would hope to have you ready to dance between 9.30 pm and 10 pm at the latest.

We understand that you have paid a lot of money for a band and DJ and we always keep this in mind. The band usually plays first and then the DJ plays until 2 am approx.

Do you have a resident’s bar after this?

Yes, we have a late resident’s bar afterward.

Is the bar extension included?

Yes, the bar extension is included with all of our wedding packages.

We have guests invited to the afters, is that ok?

Yes, it is! Just give us an estimated number of guests beforehand so that we can accommodate them in the room.

Do you provide a wedding cake stand and knife?

Yes, we provide a cake stand and cake knife.

Do you have a PA system available for wedding speeches?

Yes, we have a PA system that you can use. We also have audiovisual equipment for any slideshows that you wish to have.

Do you include wedding table centrepieces?

Yes, we include candelabras with fresh floral arrangements for each table based on your colour scheme, we also have a variety of alternative options if required.

Is there somewhere secure to store wedding cards and wedding gifts?

All of our guest bedrooms have safety deposit boxes.

Can you cater for pre or post-wedding parties?

Yes, we offer a wide variety of options for both pre and post-wedding celebrations, this can range from a sit-down meal, buffet/BBQ options, or even finger food options, we will have something to suit your needs.

Can I hold a date provisionally with you?

Absolutely, we would be only too delighted to do so. We hold a date for two weeks, after which time the date will automatically be released. If the hotel receives another enquiry for that date within these two weeks, we will contact you and offer you first refusal.  At this time a deposit will be required to confirm the date.

How much is your wedding deposit?

We require a €1,000 booking deposit to confirm your wedding date. This is payable as a lump-sum payment or in two installments. We do offer flexibility with regards to payment and you can pay as you choose along the way, a lump sum prior to the day, or pay the balance in full on departure.  On receipt of the €1,000 deposit, we will issue you with a wedding contract that will need to be signed and returned to confirm your acceptance of our terms and conditions.

Do you offer any discounts for midweek weddings?

Yes, we offer a 10% discount on our brochure/package prices for midweek weddings. Minimum numbers apply and this excludes the Christmas period.

Do the staff have health and safety training?

Yes, all our staff are highly trained in all aspects of health and safety, we have an onsite Health & Safety Officer.
