Caring for Our Environment

Clayton Belfast is proud to announce we have been awarded The Green Meetings Gold Award.  This is acknowledged worldwide as the industry standard for exceptional environmental and sustainability practices. Our venue achieved the award for our work in protecting and supporting staff and customer health and wellbeing, energy monitoring and conservation measures.
This award recognises the commitment of tourism businesses that are actively working to become more sustainable. We are very proud of our staff’s commitment to the environment and the well being of our guests.

Key Initiatives

Below are some of the steps we have taken to be more environmentally aware in Clayton Hotel Belfast so far:

  • Clayton Belfast has a proactive approach to recycling – all glass, cardboard, cans, paper, and food waste are separated and collected for recycling
  • We reuse our coffee grinds to fertilize our plants around the hotel
  • Recycled paper coasters are used for glassware throughout the hotel
  • Reduced single-use plastics in all guest bedrooms
  • Our meeting rooms are stocked with glass bottles instead of plastic water bottles
  • All of our takeaway packagings is recyclable
  • Our takeaway coffee cups and lids are 100% recyclable
  • A “keep cup” can be purchased in our Red Bean Roaster coffee shop
  • We have substantially reduced single-use plastics across the hotel with things like paper straws in the bar and single-use shampoo/conditioner bottles replace with wall-mounted refillable, vegan-friendly options.
  • Substituting traditional print marketing with digital marketing in every way possible.
