Morning

Looking for food in Cork? No problem!

Food is one of Cork’s biggest attractions, so don’t waste any time and go straight to Cork’s English Market. This 18th century covered market is a foodies paradise!  Visitors have a large selection of stalls to choose from with traders selling organic and locally produced food.

After leaving the market wander down to Opera Lane and St Patrick’s Street’s busy shopping area then continue on to explore Crawford Art Gallery, home to over 2,000 works including much loved Irish artists and a collection of classical, period and contemporary art. One of the Gallery’s focal points is a collection of Greek and Roman sculpture casts.

If you fancy a road trip Mahon Point is a great place to shop and is a short drive away!

Afternoon

Stroll along the river Lee towards Saint Fin Barre’s Cathedral, a Gothic Revival-style cathedral on the same site where the city’s patron saint established his 7th century monastery.  The building contains over a thousand sculptures, elaborate mosaics and home to Ireland’s largest church organ,  You could also jump in the car and visit Blarney Castle just 20 minutes away!
