The English Market
Where better to stop off for a taste of Cork than The English Market. In the heart of Cork City, lies Cork’s only covered market. It dates back to the 18th century. The market is built on the South Mall. Originally, it was built on the site of two reclaimed marshes, ‘the Dunscombe and the Reap marshes’. The English Market gained its name from the popularity of Markets in English in the 18th century.
The English Market is a great place to find some artisan foods and try some exciting new dishes. You can find some locally produced foods and many a food from afar. Open Monday to Sunday all year round, it is a must-see for visitors.
Getting to the English Market
